On my way to visit Norfolk, Virginia, I decided to stop in St. Augustine for a photography opportunity. My Honda Fit consumed a full tank of gas to get here from just above Stuart, costing me around $40.00 at the time of this article. This was an excellent break to stretch my legs on my way to the next destination to Congaree National Park, South Carolina where nature sings between the trees.
Due to quickly deteriorating stars and moonlight around 0500 with more human activity, I decided to cut my time a little short. The original goal was to get there earlier to obtain an updated National Parks Pass from the local historical fort and take different photos throughout the city, but I enjoy derailing myself.
The spots I had in mind included:
- The sailboats along the dock at the marina
- The Fort: Castillo de San Marcos National Monument
- Courtyard of the Plaza De La Constitucion.
If you’re strolling through the city in the evening, besides taking photos, the following activities are also available at night.

Where Am I Located?
My travels brought me to the heart of St. Augustine, Casa Monica Resort & Spa and the historical building that hosts the Alcazar Courtyard Shops. I set up my photography equipment on Granada St right across from Chase Bank. After running back and forth like a maniac a hundred times, waving to the man in the garbage truck, and probably on someone’s TikTok from Flagler College, I managed to get 2 shots I really liked. Both will also be located in my Self-Photography Gallery in the tabs above!

Below, you’ll be able to see not only my honker gazing at the Claude’s Chocolate sign, but you’ll also be able to see a statue of a man by the name of Pedro Menéndez de Avilés behind me. This guy was important for pretty much founding St. Augustine in September of 1565. If you’re interested in learning more about him or St. Augustine, choose any of these links and read your heart out.

What Am I Wearing?
“Feathers brand black and purple floral romper with skirt overlay and sleeves”
This the closest search result I’ve come to find.
I spent a disgusting amount of time trying to find this exact outfit online. I have determined either it doesn’t exist in internetland, or I completely lack fashion sense, which is entirely possible since I’m normally channeling Steve Jobs’s black shirt and blue jeans.
As for the store it was purchased from? Goodwill… I am no help…
The black boots were found in DSW, Journee Collection Kaison Over The Knee Boots

Greeting from AZ! You’re looking great and hope you’re doing well!
Ooh I love the purple and black outfit.
Thanks for another great article. Where else may anyone get that type of info
in such an ideal method of writing? I’ve a presentation next
week, and I am on the look for such info.
